[Brooke is fully retired from University Sports Massage.]
Brooke is a board certified massage therapist with the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage & Bodywork (NCBTMB). She’s continued her education in the areas of Ortho-Bionomy, Myofacial Release, and Sports-related issues. She has attended workshops with Benny Vaughn, Ben Benjermin, and all of Mike Loomis’ Orthopedic testing for Knee and Shoulder continuing-education classes. A graduate of the Florida School of Massage, Brooke has been a licensed massage therapist since 2001.
Brooke grew up in Sonoma County California. During college she worked at Lavender Hill Spa in Napa Valley and the therapeutic atmosphere inspired her to pursue a career in massage. After relocating to Gainesville, Brooke combined a passion for athletics with her pursuit of massage and enrolled in Michael Loomis’ Sports Massage Program. Upon graduation, she began working with the staff at University Sports Massage—providing massage to more than a dozen Gator athletic teams. Brooke has traveled with four consecutive National Championship teams: 2010 Women’s Swim and Dive, 2011 Women’s Tennis, 2012 Women’s Tennis, and 2013 Gymnastics.
In July 2012, Brooke was certified with the Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship (PATH) as a Therapeutic Riding instructor. She currently works with Carol Huegal PT, and is co-founder of the non-profit organization, Gainesville Riding through Equine Assisted Activities (GREAAT!) located at Brooke and her husband’s 10 acre farm in Alachua.
